Two more deaths reported from Gaza Strip
A woman has been killed in an Israeli drone strike in the north of the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian reports on Friday, despite the current ceasefire.
Medical sources at Shifa Hospital said that the Palestinian woman’s body was taken to the hospital in Gaza City.
Residents and local media said she was killed in an Israeli drone strike.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said that she was not aware of any drone strikes in the area.
Israel’s army reported on a separate incident in the south of the Gaza Strip. A Palestinian man approached soldiers in an area controlled by the army and posed a threat to them, the army said. The man was then killed.
The army statement said the Palestinian man had crossed the so-called yellow line, behind which the Israeli military had withdrawn as part of the ceasefire which began on October 10.
There were no immediate Palestinian reports on the shooting.
There have been several similar incidents in recent weeks. According to the Hamas-controlled health authority, more than 260 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since the start of the ceasefire, which brought an uneasy end to two years of war between Israel and the Islamist group Hamas.
