Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs weather live tracker: forecast for game
The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs will play in the AFC championship game in decent weather conditions on Sunday evening.
Why It Matters
The New York-based Bills and Missouri-based Chiefs are going into the second-most important game of the football season and good weather is important for the teams to perform their best. While temperatures in Kansas City have been warming up, it’s still going to be cold, which can affect the players and even the football itself.
Kansas City Weather Sunday
It will be partly sunny during the day and mostly clear at night in Kansas City on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). There will also be west-northwest wind at about 6 mph on Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will range from 34 to 23 degrees Fahrenheit.
When Are The Chiefs And Bills Playing?
Kickoff is at 5:30 CST on Sunday at the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium.
Will Taylor Swift Be At The Championship Game?
Pop singer Taylor Swift will likely be at the championship game on Sunday to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce. Last season, Swift attended all of the Chiefs’ playoff games and was there to watch the Kansas City team win Super Bowl LVIII. She went to eight of the Chiefs’ nine home games this season, including last Saturday’s playoff game that the Chiefs won against the Houston Texans. Swift only missed one Chiefs home game of this season on December 8, 2024, for the final concert of her Eras Tour.
What People Are Saying
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, said in a video posted to his team’s X, formerly Twitter, account: “You gotta put it all on the line in order to win and try to get to the Super Bowl and this is a great football team we’re going up against. So, I think all of us are going to go out there and give everything we have.”
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills quarterback, said in a video posted to X by the Bills on Friday that the team “just had a good week of practice,” and he attributed the fact that they are more prepared for a game like this than in the past to “the love that we have in this locker room, the respect that we have for each other and the fear of letting each other down.”
What Happens Next
The Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles will play their Championship game on Sunday. Whichever teams win the two games this weekend will advance to Super Bowl LIX on February 9.
