COE premiums rise across the board; Cat A back up above S$100,000
[SINGAPORE] Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums rose across the board for all categories of vehicles in the latest round of bidding on Wednesday (Jul 9), with that for Category A back up above S$100,000.
The category, for the mainstream cars, also logged the biggest absolute increase –S$2,978 or 3 per cent – to S$101,102 in this first exercise for July.
The Category A COE is for cars with engines of up to 1,600 cc in capacity or with up to 97 kilowatts (kW) of power, or for electric vehicles (EVs) with up to 110 kW of power.
Prices for Category B, for larger and more powerful cars, ticked up 2.5 per cent or S$2,930 to S$119,600.
Category B is for cars with engines of more than 1,600 cc in capacity or have more than 97 kW of power, or for EVs with more than 110 kW.
Category E, the open category which can be used to register any type of motor vehicle except motorcycles, rose by S$1,611 or 1.4 per cent to S$118,500.
The motorcycle category, D, posted the largest increase. It was up 9.2 per cent or S$789 at S$9,389.
The commercial vehicle category, or category C, rose 2.6 per cent or S$1,689 to S$66,689.
There were 3,073 COEs up for bidding this round.
