Eagles WR A.J. Brown Offers Blunt Opinion of Team’s Offense
The Philadelphia Eagles notched a thrilling Week 3 win over the visiting Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, closing out the game with a 33-26 final score at Lincoln Financial Field.
Trailing 26-7 in the third quarter, the Eagles stormed back with 26 unanswered points. The contest ended with a Rams field goal attempt blocked by defensive lineman Jordan Davis and returned for a touchdown.
The Eagles’ offense, led by first-year offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, was stagnant for much of the game. But with a more aggressive offensive game plan late, quarterback Jalen Hurts and the reigning Super Bowl champions looked like a completely different team.
Hurts threw three consecutive touchdown passes as the Eagles mounted their comeback, including one to star wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Entering the Week 3 matchup, Brown had just six catches for 35 yards and no touchdowns in his previous two games. The three-time Pro Bowler finished Sunday’s game with six catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.

After the game, Brown made it very clear that he wants the offense to be more aggressive moving forward.
“Me, personally, I truly believe, man, we got so many good players on this team, and at times you can feel like we’re being conservative and I don’t think it should be like that,” Brown said, via team beat writer Jeff McLane. “I think it should [be] let your killers do [their] thing, and play fast and play aggressive.
“I’m not saying that we haven’t been, but for me, personally, that’s what I would like. Obviously, we’re gonna run the ball and we’re gonna set up the run off the pass and the pass off the run. But we have a lot of good players, and I feel like you should just let us go. It shouldn’t be like that.”
I asked A.J. Brown about the #Eagles opening up the passing game more in the 2H vs. the Rams. His response:

To Brown’s point, the Eagles rank 27th in total offense (806 total yards) through three games. The team totaled only 216 and 288 total yards in the last two games against the Chiefs and Rams, and they’re one of just six teams to average less than 270 yards of total offense this season.
Brown and the Eagles will look to further their unbeaten record in a Week 4 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday.
