First Alert: light snow possible Monday
First Alert: A Winter Storm will bring impacts to Central NC on Monday in the form of light snow. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for many counties from 7am on Monday to Noon on Tuesday. Accumulating snow could lead to slick road conditions especially along the NC/VA border.
A quiet evening is on tap for Central NC. Temperatures will be in the 40s for the evening, dropping into the 30s for lows tonight.
An Arctic front arrives tomorrow and it has enough moisture to bring some light rain that changes to snow. Minor accumulations are possible, mainly along and north of I-40. Maybe up to and inch north of the Triangle. Highest amounts, of up to 2″, are expected along the NC/VA border. Maybe up to and inch north of the Triangle

Black ice could be a concern Monday night into Tuesday for any areas with lingering moisture as lows will drop below the freezing mark. Tuesday morning temps will be in the lows 20s and teens.
Warmer conditions and more cloud-cover are expected Wednesday and Thursday. An arctic front arrives late-week. Highs for next weekend will be around 40 degrees.
