Hamas confirms death of Mohammed Sinwar three months after IDF announcement
According to the IDF, Mohammed Sinwar was killed in an Israeli airstrike on May 13 in Khan Yunis.
Hamas confirmed the death of Mohammed Sinwar on Saturday night, three and a half months after the IDF announced that he had been killed in an airstrike.
The terrorist organization posted a collection of photos celebrating “pure martyr leaders,” including Mohammed and Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, Mohammed Deif, and others.
Sinwar, who was head of Hamas’ military wing, was killed in an IAF airstrike in May 2025 that targeted senior Hamas figures operating in an underground command center under the European Hospital in Khan Yunis.
Who was Mohammed Sinwar?
Sinwar was the younger brother of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was killed by the IDF in October 2024.

Initially, the body was found in a tunnel along with at least 10 other bodies of terrorists. It was later brought to Israel for identification.
The military campaign, which was conducted jointly with the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), targeted senior Hamas figures operating in an underground command and control center.
