The red-hot Tampa Bay Lightning (29-13-4, 62 points) had their franchise-record tying 11-game winning streak snapped on Friday night, but take a 12-game points string into Sunday afternoon’s matchup with the scuffling Dallas Stars (27-12-9, 63 points), as Dallas has just two wins in its last 11 games.

Nikita Kucherov had a goal and an assist for Tampa Bay, but it wasn’t enough on Friday night as the Lightning fell 3-2 on the road to the St. Louis Blues in a shootout. Tampa Bay fell behind 2-0 in a 30-second span late in the first period before climbing back into the game on power-play markers from Kucherov and Oliver Bjorkstrand midway through the second period. The Lightning haven’t lost in regulation since Dec. 18.

The Stars fell to 2-5-4 in their last 11 games with a 2-1 road loss to the Utah Mammoth on Thursday night. Mikko Rantanen tied the game with a power-play goal 2:04 into the third period before Utah reclaimed the lead less than two minutes later to skate off with the win.

The Lightning can finish off a season sweep of Dallas after claiming a 2-1 overtime win at home on Oct. 30. Kucherov leads Tampa Bay with 24 goals and 69 points, while Brandon Hagel has 22 markers. Andrei Vasilevskiy is 19-7-3 in 29 starts with a shutout, a .914 save percentage, and 2.26 goals against average. Jason Robertson tops the Stars with 27 goals, and Wyatt Johnston has 25, while Rantanen leads the team with 63 points. In 30 starts, Jake Oettinger is 17-9-4 with two shutouts, a .903 save percentage, and 2.68 GAA.

This is a great NHL matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
