Israeli foreign minister slams Australia after Sydney attack
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar sharply criticized the Australian government following the shooting at a Hanukkah event in Sydney on Sunday.
“I’m appalled by the murderous shooting attack at a Hanukkah event in Sydney, Australia,” Saar wrote in a post on social media platform X.
He said the Jewish community had been targeted and that Sunday’s shooting was the result of “the anti-Semitic rampage in the streets of Australia over the past two years.”

“The Australian government, which received countless warning signs, must come to its senses!” he wrote.
Australian authorities have yet to comment on possible motives, saying only that two people were in custody following the shooting on Sydney’s Bondi Beach.
Australian media reported that dozens of shots were fired and that there were multiple casualties.
The Australian Jewish Association said that the shooting took place at a public Hanukkah event.
