Exes Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen have had their very public ups and downs through the years — and even Richards was "really surprised" at the actor's response to the family's new reality show.
"He's been supportive from day one," Richards — who shares daughters Sami, 20, Lola, 19, with the Two and a Half Men alum — told People in an interview published Wednesday, February 19.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum and all three of her daughters — she is also mom to Eloise, 13, whom she shares with husband Aaron Phypers — will star on the show, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, premiering March 4 on Bravo.

"He saw the trailer and sent me such a wonderful sweet positive text," Richards, 54, told the outlet about her ex-husband's reaction. "I was actually really surprised. It meant a lot to me."
The former couple, who were married from 2002 to 2006, have not always seen eye-to-eye when it comes to their children — or their own relationship, breaking up and getting back together several times throughout their marriage.
Their most recent public feud occurred when Sami joined OnlyFans in 2022 soon after her 18th birthday. While Richards — who also started her own account after being inspired by her daughter — approved of Sami's bold social media move, Sheen was much more upset, saying at the time: "She is 18 years old now and living with her mother. This did not occur under my roof." ("I had a knee-jerk reaction to it because of the reputation that preceded it," the Scary Movie 3 star, who ultimately was on board with his eldest daughter's aspirations, later told Bustle.)
At one point following their divorce, the Wild Things star temporarily took in Sheen's youngest children — now 15-year-old twins Bob and Max, whom he shares with third ex-wife Brooke Mueller — when Mueller lost custody of the kids while struggling with substance abuse problems. (Sheen, for his part, has also been open about his own substance abuse issues through the years.)
"I'm grateful we were able to help them during that time," the Drop Dead Gorgeous star told People on Wednesday about the 2013 situation.
Richards — who, her children note, has always attempted to to shield them from their dad's headline-making antics — is on good terms with her ex-husband these days. (In addition to his two children with Richards and his two with Mueller, Sheen is also father of adult daughter Cassandra Estevez.)
"Charlie is always invited to holiday dinners," she told People. "There's always an open door and that goes for Brooke and the boys as well. I'm always, the more the merrier. I want everyone to get along and everyone to be peaceful."
