Meitar Law Firm honors ex-hostage Omri Miran in symbolic Ramat Gan poster removing ceremony

The banner, which had called for Miran’s release, was displayed prominently on the building throughout his captivity as a symbol of hope and solidarity with hostages’ families.
Omri Miran, who spent 738 days in Hamas captivity, participated in a ceremony on Thursday to remove a large banner bearing his photograph from the facade of the Oranim building in Ramat Gan, where Meitar Law Firm’s offices are located.
The banner, which had called for Miran’s release, was displayed prominently on the building throughout his captivity as a symbol of hope and solidarity with hostages’ families.
Meitar Law Firm took on Miran’s case early in the war, providing pro bono legal assistance to the Hostages Headquarters and advocating for the captives’ return.
The firm specifically chose to highlight Miran’s plight, anticipating that his demographic – men between 40 and 50 -would likely be among the last to be released.
Just ten days after his release, Miran attended the ceremony alongside his father, Danny Miran, and approximately 800 Meitar employees.

‘We wish Omri a peaceful life’
Yoram Movshowitz, partner and CEO of Meitar Law Firm, addressed the gathering, saying, “This day symbolizes the beginning of healing and rehabilitation, yours, ours, and that of Israeli society as a whole. Throughout this entire period, the values embodied in the Declaration of Independence stood before our eyes: mutual responsibility, freedom, and human dignity.”
Movshowitz announced that the firm would provide higher education scholarships to Roni and Alma, expressing hope that they would return to normal life. “We wish Omri a peaceful life, full of meaning, and that he can rebuild his life with faith and hope,” he added.
‘My heart is with the grieving families’
Speaking at the ceremony, Miran said, “I am happy to celebrate life and to be here with you in the free air. My heart is with the grieving families who lost their most precious loved ones. Your loved ones are engraved in my heart and in the heart of my entire family.”
He thanked Meitar Law Firm, saying, “from the bottom of my heart,” for their support throughout his ordeal.
Danny Miran reflected on the firm’s unwavering commitment, “Omri’s sign was raised from the second week of captivity, and this signaled to me that Meitar truly cares and that it sees the person, the family, and all of Israeli society. I felt at home here.”
“Today I feel that we have closed the circle. I have completed the mission of bringing Omri home,” Miran’s father concluded.
The ceremony emphasized that efforts continue to bring home all remaining hostages and to ensure deceased captives receive proper burial in Israel.
