State indicts suspects over Syria-to-Israel weapons smuggling network

Prosecutors say suspects, including three from Syria and four from northern Israel, exploited fighting in southern Syria to move guns, ammunition, and RPGs.

The prosecution filed two indictments at the Nazareth District Court on Thursday against suspected Israeli and Syrian weapons smugglers.

The defendants include Shfaram resident Rami Abu Shah, Yarka residents Amir Salman, Anan Mula, and Munir Abu Daher, and three residents of Hader in Syria.

According to the indictments, the defendants conspired throughout 2025 to import, possess, and traffic firearms and military ordnance from Syrian territory into Israel, using the unrest in southern Syria to facilitate cross-border transfers.

This is a developing story.
